Meanies
#1
[cool][#0000ff]Thekillerbee sent me a pic of a small green ice jig he called the "Mean Joe Green". It has been working well whenever the trout at Strawberry want something smaller than the big marabou "Strawberry Special". [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]So, once I had the basic idea, I whupped up a few different color combos, in popular trout munchin' colors. Here's the pics.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]These are all part of my BDD system...Bait Delivery Device. They are designed to be decorated with crawler, waxworm, mealworm or a piece of minnow. In some situations, a gob of powerbait seals the deal.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]I think the "original" was a "bitty bug", with a size 8 hook and 1/64 head. The ones I made were 1/16 oz. and size 6 and 4 hooks. I coulda made smaller but if the fish are that touchy I'm gonna pick up my toys and go back home.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You need to get down here some day and look at some of the new materials I have been experimenting with. Got extras on a lot of it.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]They already have...at Pineview last week. They also scored both perch and trout at Lake X on my last trip. I made some up with 1/8 oz. heads, to get down fast in the 50 foot water, and used them on the bottom of a dropper rig. The fish liked the bigger ones, with a piece of perch meat or crawler.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I call the larger ones "Big Meanies".[/#0000ff]
