lucerne ramp report

I was wondering if anyone can give me the ice/water coditions for the lucerne boat ramp. I'm hoping to fish the antelope area this weekend.

Welcome to BFT. I was out there two weeks ago, and open water at Lucerne depended upon whether the wind blew or not. One day it was frozen all the way to Antelope, during the night the wind blew and it was open the next day. Most likely this is still the case. We had a hard time getting a report from out that way so we called the Chevron in Manila and they gave us an decent appraisal of conditions. The number there is (435) 784-3363, stop in and buy a Coke or something and say thanks if they give you info. Macs were widely scattered, but when we got over them in any numbers we were able to catch them. Fishley may know more as well.

I was just up there this past weekend. Lucerne boat ramp is iced in. There is open water at Swim, but it was hard to tell if Antelope was open. Linwood had about 1-1/2" of ice where we checked it. It was -13 degrees up there on Monday morning, so I don't think the ice will be leaving real soon, unless we get a heat wave and some w---. Oh, thats right the w--- never shows up at the Gorge. LOL.
