FLATHEAD LAKE FISHING REPORT
Date: 2/21/06
Best lake trout catches have been reported in these areas (see map on page 2):
Area: Depths:
Painted Rocks 100-120’
Angel Point Some trolling success reported.
Mac Alley Troll different depths
Somers Bay Ice fishing
Polson Bay Ice fishing
Best lures/baits for lake trout have been:
Jigs-green colors with cut-bait. Perch bait is working well.
Somers Bay Ice fishing is producing a few lake whitefish along with lake trout.
Best lures/baits for lake whitefish have been:
General Comments:
There are a few areas where the ice is thick enough to fish from. Polson Bay and Somers Bay have anglers out on them. Be sure that it is safe before going out too far.
