Highland Lakes (Buchanan & LBJ) Guide Report
#1
Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 62 degrees; 1011.83':
IF we receive the predicted "heavy" rains this week bass fishing should really pick up because the biggest females that have not spawned yet will come shallow.
Largemouth are good above and along breaklines in 3'-6' of
water inside of secondary points of creeks and pockets using crawfish Rat-L-Traps, white Terminator tungsten spinnerbaits, weightless Texas rigged watermelon-red Whacky Sticks and wacky rigged Daiquiri JDC Dog Bones.
Stripers are good under birds in 25' from Garrett Island uplake drifting live bait, trolling and casting 3" Spoiler Shads and Snap Back jerkbaits rigged on aweighted RED Bait Jerker Hook (Falcon Lures) to schooling fish.
White Bass are good from the Willows to the river jigging Pirk Minnows, 2" Spoiler Shads and trolling crankbaits.
