Quail Creek- Launch at 8:30 am and fished until 2:00 pm. Nothing, nada, zip, zilch. We fished water from 5-50 feet around rocks, trees, quick drops, and shallow flats. We did spot some nice bass that were all on flats near deep water in about 15 feet. We tried everything drop shots, crankbaits, spinner baits, texas rigged crawlers, jerkbaits I mean everything. We did spot all the bass afternoon wich I think they are becoming more active as the water warms in the later afternoon. My cousin Dustin did get one bite on a drop shotted wacky rigged wave worm but didn't hook up. I wanted to stay later thinking the fish may become hungry later in the day with the rising water temps. We had to leave at 2 to get a jump start on our Vegas outing.
Vegas was very good to us, and we ended up staying friday and saturday night. My cousin Jason had won big at the craps table and the pitt boss offered us a free night stay on saturday so how could we refuse another night in Vegas. Sunday was a rough day with all of us being hung over from the night before. and we didn't leave Vegas till 1 pm.
Sand Hollow- Got to the lake Sunday at 5 pm, and headed out in search of big bass. We started off fishing rock humps in 10-25 feet of water, with little success. I caught one on a drop shotted worm in about 20 feet of water. figured they weren't holding in good numbers in that area, so hit up another spot across the lake with trees and small boulders for cover. We fished toward the shore and had great success in this area for bass from 12-18 inches. Dropshotting worms was the ticket, and as it got closer to dark the fishing got better. Fished till completely dark and caught around 20 in that area in about an hour in a half or so. lots of snags so be prepared to rety alot.
Fished monday from 9:30-12:30. tried same general area with not as much sucess as the day before. Only caught about 10 in 3 hours fished, but still was a hell of a lot better that Quail.
