I am planning on getting a single person pontoon this spring. There are so many choices, it's hard to just pick one out. I will be using it to float rivers mostly, but will probably use it on some lakes as well. Some big rivers, and some smaller ones as well. I am looking in the under $700 dollar category. I will also be doing overnight floats as well. So I would like to hear recommondations on which one you would pick, and why.

[#0000ff]If you are looking for rugged whitewater worthy craft, the $700 upper limit may be tough to work with, especially if you want something you can load up with extra cargo for camping on river runs. That will put you in the 11 or 12 foot category, with stronger frames and bigger air chambers.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Some of the more advanced river running craft provide standing platforms and lean bars. Of course, those add significantly to the price.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The Creek Company makes a lot of good river running craft. So do several others. You kind of have to do your own homework, after you complete the list of things that are 1. necessary 2. nice for nice 3. nonessential.[/#0000ff]

i'm thinking about getting a toon also but I can't make up my mind on what one to get, I want something with a motor mount already on the toon, maybe a TU Colorado?

did you look at the sportswarehouse one yet?Comes with a motormount/anchor system,oars,and bags.got the 9' one last fall,and I like it
