Tippy was on the cold side of the weather front but , the action was warming up as far as the fishing was concered .
Last weekend I was lucky enough to have two fish on and brought one home . This weekend I missed every bump that came my way .
There were quite a few fish taken , most were on the small side being "just legal" with only a handful exceeding the twenty five inch length . Presentations that did well were slip-bobbers and bottombouncing . Stonefly patterns, single egg flys, and spawn sacks were used by the sucessful anglers .
Smelt , minnows and diving lures were non productive , as far as I know .
Fishing was standing room only , not quite shoulder to shoulder but by next weekend I imagine it will be so , that is if you are going to be on the D.N.R. boat launch side of the river . The north side of the rivers public access ( the stairs ) will be closed due to some construction improvements being done .
