[red] I don't know about anyone else, but I like to take a little snack or something out in the boat when I am going fishing. Personally I like a good ole PBJ sandwich and a bag of Beef jerky to munch on.[/red]
[#ff0000] What do you guys like to have?[/#ff0000]

Last weekend I decided to grab some pepperoni sticks from the gas station at the Springville exit. Little did I know I bought the insanely spicy ones....makes my gut rumble just thinking about, man they were tasty[crazy].

Homemade deer and elk jerky, elk and deer salami with plently of cheese and crackers. I think I have ruined my sons, they will never have it this good with the storebought stuff. I guess that's what it's all about.

Albertson's deli section used to carry this 10 pack of mini bean burritos that made a great hand-snack while fishing. They weren't messy, easy to put down if you had a fish, and they were pre-made. On a hot summer day, just put them in the sun for a little while to warm them. However, they weren't bad cold, either. Pudding snacks or yogurt are also great to have out there, but more messy than I care for. Jerky is a must, along with a bag of sunflower seeds.
That reminds me of a funny story. We were ice fishing once and eating pistachios. We dropped a shell in the hole and, surprisingly, it sank rather than floated. We dropped a few more, then suddenly had a fish hit that line. I guess the movement probably brought a curious fish in. It happened a couple of times that day.

[cool][#0000ff]It's not just WHAT you take to munch on, but you DO need to have something along for both fuel and for strike attractant. Every serious fisherman knows that the best way to get a bite, after a long time without any action, is to reach for a snack or a drink.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Can't begin to remember how many times I have joked "Well, time to take a bite of my sandwich, so I can get a bite" and then had the first or only whack of the day.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]On one of my last ice fishing trips on Jordanelle, I had fished since 7:30 in the morning, with only a few dinky perch. There had been absolutely nothing for over an hour, at 10:30, when I decided to take a bite out of my breakfast sandwich. That did it. Game on. It took me until 1:30 to finish the sandwich because literally everytime I took a bite, so did the fish.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Coincidence? Sure, but it is another fun fisherman's legend.[/#0000ff]

On a hot summer day trolling for macs at the big blue I enjoy a ice cold Coors Banquet beer. Some jerky is always good. Sunflower seeds and pork rinds also taste good with that beer.
When I am Ice fishing I enjoy a little Scnaps, pistachios or sunflower seeds,
But the thing I enjoy most I dont eat. Its a great cigar! a big old Stoggie. Winter,Summer, Spring or fall a big stoggie is always with me.
