Rockport
#1
First post ever. Thanks to all who provide info, I'll try to do my part. Went to Rockport Saturday afternoon to see if firing up the boat for 2006 would pose any difficulties. Fired up with first crank on the key. Got there at 2:30pm and just wanted to cruise around, but my daughter suggested that we drop in a fishing pole if we were going to go slow. I love her. We were cruising the west side, near the steeper slopes with a jointed rapala rainbow color, and low and behold picked up a 19" very wide rainbow. I caught a few through the ice earlier this year and the quality of the fish is impressive. Only stayed on the water an hour, and there were only two other boats seen. No ice, and the nice thing is that the heavy flows carrying debris have not yet begun. Water is clear and very fishable. There were about a dozen guys fishing the river near the inlet.
