This weekend I have the choice of fishing from the shore or shallow wading in either Utah Lake, Provo River, or Deer Creek. If you were faced with the same choice, where would you go and what would you fish for?

I would hit Utah Lake if I were you. The Provo River is running high.

Go get some cutts at Strawberry. Great fishing and no pressure this time of year. Take your waders in case of slush but there was not any today.
I would stay away from Provo River, lots of water.

[cool][#0000ff]I'll be fishing Lincoln Beach tomorrow morning. Will post a report.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Deer Creek is spotty from shore. Provo River is running too heavy for finesse fishing.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Best chance for a bent stick and stretched string...on something...is probably one of the harbors or Lincoln Beach on Utah Lake.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Hoping the warm days can at least break even on the drop in water temps from the storms since the last warm days.[/#0000ff]

Utah Lake is probably the best bet. But the Provo offers some exciting fishing this time of year. Yeah I know its high and fast. So if you hit the Provo try the eddys and dead spots. All of the dams have a quite spot on the down flow side. Some even on the inlet side. Try the slow spots as that is where food and fish congrate this time of the year. They like to get out of the current also,

Hit Lindon boat harbor last night around 5:30 fished a few hours not much action; The harbor is looking great much nicer then I remember, fished the south and north ends I was mainly bait fishing for cats using worms/ shrimp ect, the daughter was tossing a variety of bass lures to no avail. We had a lot of fun though. Spoke with the handful of fishermen down there, slow fishing for them as well. Going to Deer Creek Sat will send report.

O.K. I think I will head out to Utah Lake--probably around Lindon. So. Specifics. What should I target inside the harbor, what should I target outside and what should I use. I would really like to catch a big fat carp and help rid the lake of that scaly denizen. Give me some tips!
