#1
I HAVE BEEN TO THE GORGE 2 WEEKS AGO AND THE RAINBOWS ARE SPAWNING LIKE CRAZY.AND I TRIED SPINNERS,WORMS,POWERBAIT,AND THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD CATCH THEM WAS A SMALL WHOOLY BUGGER FLY,ISS THIS WHAT ALL OF THEM FEED ON DURING THIS TIME OF YEAR ,OR WHAT OTHER THINGS CAN I TRY TO LAND THSE FISH,I CAN SEE THEM IN THE WATER AND ITS VERY HARD TO GET THEM TO LOOK AT MUCH ,BUT I DID CATCH A 2 3-4 POUNDERS.AND I SPENT ALOT OF TIME CATCHING THSE.ANY SUGGESTIONS?

In my limited experience, fish that are in the reproducing mood, don't usually like to smack lures around. They have a one track mind, and usually you can only get reaction strikes on occasion.

I fished the Gorge on Friday and Sat. and hammerd the rainbows. We landed over 40 and lost a bunch more. We were trolling in 10 to 20 feet using jointed rapalas and taildancers. I too saw the rainbows swimming under the ramp at Buckboard. The shore fishermen were catching a few on worms and Krocodiles.I think you just have to keep moving and find some that want to hit.
