#1
I want to fish the canal north of Lindon harbor. Where's the best place to park?

I have seen lots of guys park near the canal west of the road leading into the Lindon Boat Harbor.

[cool][#0000ff]Just recently a major looking construction project has been set up in the big vacant lot to the south of the garbage processing center. Everything is now fenced off.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You can park near the gate at Lindon Harbor and walk down the tracks, but if it has been awhile since you were there you are going to be surprised. The water goes clear to the tracks, and you can't even tell where the channel is (see pic).[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Now, if you want to fish the actual creek running to the lake, before it goes under the railroad trestle, you can park on the road anywhere after you make the turn in front of the garbage plant.[/#0000ff]

There is a field in there that is about a foot of water with decent clarity between the channel and the boat harbor. I am predicting that the carp will be rolling all over it within a few days (for you bow fishers). Unless you know where you are going, I would stay away from the stream channel. One bad step and you will go from 2 feet of water to 10 feet. I came up empty there on the 1st and saw a whole 2 white bass caught by the other 5 or 6 guys that were there. Like TubeDude said, the place where we all used to park is fenced off now, so it is a walk of several hundred yards down the tracks to get in there.

[cool][#0000ff]The whole stretch of lake from there to American Fork is shallow and full of reeds and tamarisk, with easy access down off the tracks. I have been tubing for quite a ways down there, both this year and last year. Tons of carp use this stretch of shoreline and last year it was obscene how many there were.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Like many of the best areas, if you are willing to walk a little you can get some prime shooting...without a lot of "help" from others.[/#0000ff]
