A message that I received from TU

[cool][font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3]B[/size][/green][/font][font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3]ack in March, we wrote asking you to help convince Congress to block proposals by the United States Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that would allow for the sale of public lands. Thank you for emailing your elected officials. We've never received a stronger response than you offered. More TU volunteers wrote and called their Members of Congress than ever before. And, they listened to you.

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives responded to your demand that public lands remain in public hands. The House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee did not include these harmful BLM or Forest Service proposals in the
[/size][/green][/font][url "http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?ID=M716531447532174327894765"][font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3]fiscal year 2007 Interior Appropriations bill.[/size][/green][/font][/url][font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3] Equally important, the Secretary-designee of the Department of the Interior said he was opposed to the use of public land sales for deficit reduction.

The threat of selling off our public land legacy remains, but with your help we can continue to beat it back.
