it seems to be a pretty good price for a large quantity of line. how does it compare to p-line? should i spend the extra money and go with that? im looking for a good flouro to use while trolling. what do you guys think? also, what kind of knots do you guys use for flourocarbon?

I have not had any experience with this line; however, I did some "research" and asked around quite a lot. I was told by the majority of the people that I asked--including the salesman at Cabelas--to get P-Line. Having said that, I did get some other people tell me that they have used the Cabelas brand and it worked just fine. I have had the P-line on my reel for about a month, it seems to work fine, but honestly, if I could do it again I would probably go ahead and get the Cabelas AND the P-Line and do my own comparison. If I ever get around to doing that, I will let you know what I think--but like you said, the Cabelas brand is a pretty good deal.

99% sure it is made by seagar. tried it once but I prefer P-line 10lb for lake trout, the p-line is tough as it gets and a little more flexable/soft than seagar.

Palomar Knot.

P-Line is the best, but expensive. It may last 3 days of back to back use before turning bad. Still better than most. i use P-Line and Vanish. Look for line bleaching(flurocarbon turns whitish when it starts to go bad), this can occur in one day at Powell.

Keep your line out of the sun and heat, it will last longer.
