Let me know if you see any good Bull Elk up in that area this summer, I drew a Premium Limited Entry tag for that area, I usually hunt more towards Strawberry but I know Hobble Creek holds some excellent animals and I've never been in that area. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.[

Here are the directions to Hobble Creek:
Take I-15 South to Springville Exit 260, turn left (East). Head east 3.3 miles to an "All-Way" stop and turn right (South). Follow this road approx. 2 miles as it winds to the left (East) and up into Hobble Creek Canyon above springville, and then you'll be at the mouth of the canyon. Another .5 miles later you'll see the Hobble Creek catch basin (stocked by the DWR with planter rainbows). Keep going up the canyon, past the golf course, and when the road forks, take the RIGHT fork (I don't think there are any fish in the left fork), and continue on and fish anywhere from that point on. I fished up around the Cherry Campground. [signature]

Here is my report:
I left work in south provo at about noon, headed up to Hobble Creek Canyon. I took a few pictures along the way for my website. Here is the Hobble Creek Catch Basin: Here is the stream. The flows are still quite heavy and a little murky, but not completely unfishable if you find the right slow-water pockets, eddies, etc. and here is another one: I caught these two nice little brown trout: 1st one (10 inches): 2nd (9 inches): Gonna have a tasty dinner tonight! Here is the hole I caught them from. It's a nice big deep slow eddy right now, but later in the year after runoff, it becomes very shallow and the fish do not really use it then. [signature]

I used to hunt up the left fork past all the private property and we would see fish in the river while waiting for the rest of our party to get back to the car. They were never big but they were there. Hard to find anywhere that isn't private on that fork though.

I love Hobble Creek. I grew up in Springville and the creek ran right through my back yard.
The best thing to use on that river is a black rooster tail with silver spoon or when they come out Grasshoppers. Every once in a while you can pull out some pretty nice fish. I pulled out a 26 incher one year. Looks like you had a great lunch break bro. Law [signature]

I used to live in Springville and fish the creek too. When the water is a little higher and murky like that I always did best with small 1/16 oz. mepps spinners, gold or silver flipped up and accross and swung through the current. The nice thing about he water running off color is that the fish can't spot you as well, so if you walk real quiet they don't spook as easy as the rest of the year. Pretty fun when they hit come out of nowhere and hit those spinners.

That is true. Later in the year the water is so low and clear that it is takes a lot of patience and skill sometimes to sneak up on them. The hole I caught these out of was a nice whirlpool eddy and I just cast a worm in there and let it spin around and around till a fish picked it up. I spent only about 15 minutes at that hole before I had to get back to work and caught those two. I agree about the mepps spinners under those conditions too. I almost tied one on, and would have if I had more time.
