Weber/Pineview
#1
Headed out Sat 5/20 and hit the Weber near the Henefer exit.Water clarity wasn't bad at all in this area.Left the flyrod at home and drifted some "garden hackle" through some nice riffles.First fish was an acrobatic 12 inch brown.A few drifts later nailed a nice 18 incher, one of those with the real bright white mouths.Cool fish...both still swimmin. Then I drove over Trappers to Pineview to see if I could get any crappie or smallies.I had a smallie chase my jig right up to the bank under my feet but he wouldn't take it so I changed to a whole nightcrawler threaded on a #4 hook and drifted that weightless in between the cottonwood roots. They nailed it everytime. If they quit biting I would just move down the bank 15-20 feet and game on again.Fished this way for about 2 hours and landed 8 smallies.Smallest was 10'' up to a fat 16''.Fished in the Spring Creek arm.Fun multi-species day!

Thanks for the report, sounds like you had a great time. I have only been to Pineview once and did not fish, but it looks like a great lake to fish, I will have to fish it this year.[Smile]

If you do fish Pineview, try to hit it as early as possible before the power squadrons start beating the crap out of the water and muddying up the shorelines.Things slowed down for me the muddier the water got.Good luck.
