Hill Country Fishing
#1
Hello everyone...anyone know of any good isolated river fishing spots where a guy can pack his way in a get lost for the night? I need a brather and I'm just not much for the crowds, and I miss river fishing out in the middle of nowhere like when I was a kid.

Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Love the local reports and such, thanks for the info.

TexasFisher,
Well, hello!
WELCOME TO THE TEXAS FORUM!
Do you have any rivers that you prefer?
This might help find that secluded spot just right for you.
I inderstand the need for some solitude now and then. Fishing alone gives some of the best relaxing times I have found.
I like fishing the salt water and found that around 2AM is a great time to hit some of the piers and realy relax.

Public "Isolated Fishing Spots" on Hill Country rivers is something you'll probably have some difficulty in locating. The vast majority of land in Texas is privately owned. To find isolated areas like you are looking for you'll need to do some investigation.

You might try talking to people at stores that sell camping supplies to see whether they have any information on public lands. Bait and tackle dealers might be another source.

But your best bet is to try some of the Texas State Parks. Go to www.tpwd.state.tx.us for information.
