[cool][#0000ff]This is a LINK for all the elitist bassers. See, you really don't need those high priced bass sleds and fancy gear to catch those stupid greenfish.[/#0000ff]

[black]I would have to agree TD. Having grown up in an area where Bass are a native fish, when we were kids, we made lots of "make do" tackle(just a piece of line on a stick with a hook - we seldom used a reel) and caught lots of big bass. [/black]

[black]Aside from being a real tasty fish(especially small mouths), I never considered them very special. As a matter of fact, back when I was younger, if the option was available, for a variety of reasons, I would usually have chosen to go cat fishing or pan fishing instead. Even so, I would never have turned up the chance for some good Bass fillets.[/black]

[black]If you have never eaten Bass, you really should try it. [/black]

[cool][#0000ff]I like smallmouth better than largemouth and smaller fish better than larger ones. Just like trout, the larger fish are sometimes pretty rank tasting.[/#0000ff]

Reminds me of the time a neighbor kid and I were going to fish for the goldfish in his house with a safety pin and thread. Fortunately, we didn't go through with our plans or his dad would have tanned our bottoms.

Splake! Causey! Same scenario! Caught 21 fish before we left. All were released to "grow up".

bass are great table fare. I only catch a few of them a year as i rarely target bass...just never saw what the big deal was. Skipjack herring jump outta the water and fight just as hard...LOL

Yeah Kent. It was fun watching all the people not catching much gawking at me while i threw a handful of line and salmon eggs out. We did catch a few descent bows that day too.
