I am going to be on crutches for a few months and I am wondering if people can give me some suggestions on some accessible fishing spots for someone who isn't very mobile right now.

Silver Lake near Brighton Ski Resort has a boardwalk with handicap accessible docks. Mirror Lake also has a boardwalk with many accessible points to fish.

If you like trout fishing and want to escape the city heat, there's a lake a mile or two above electric lake called benches res. It has a handy cap dock built all along one side which was made for exactly people in your position. It's stocked on a regular basis, the scenery is unmatched, and does'nt receive much pressure outside of holidays. If you take some binnoculars you can see deer and elk from right there on the dock every evening and morning. Just drive up fairveiw canyon , take the scofeild turn off , and you'll drive right past it before you hit electric Lake Good Luck Lonnie

You can view a list of all of Utah's "Urban Ponds" or "Community Fisheries" by clicking here.
It includes directions to them as well as an idea of what kind of fish are in each (most have rainbow trout, channel cats, bass and bluegill). They are scattered throughout Salt Lake, Davis and Utah counties, as well as elsewhere in the state, so no matter where you live you should be able to find something close to you. O, and I second Ocean's advise to go to Lincoln Beach on the south end of Utah Lake. Kevin [signature] |
