Haven't been this year yet, but it's a big lake so watch the wind with a canoe. Don't know how you like to fish, but a couple of areas that should be good and within canoe/tube reach where we've had good success are near the old Fish Lake Lodge just outside of the marina, and a bit to the north (where a creek feeds the lake) out about 100 yards past the shore fishermen, you will notice the weed line - that's a spot for some decent trout and lots of small perch). Also further to the south, there a number of spots along the lakeside road where you can easily pull over and drop in your canoe, (with a short carry) that are shallower (as you reach the south end of the lake) that trout cruise through and are more popular with fly fishermen and for shallower tracking lures. Have fun - it's a beautiful place.

If you can get there at daylight, try fishing from shore right where that creek flows into the lake.My kids use power bait and they do really well. I usually cast a roostertail right into the turbulence. The trout are just sitting in the current waiting for their breakfast. You can usually limit out in about a 1/2 hr.I don't think you are allowed to fish in the creek itself though. There are also tons of dink perch in the weed beds.

Hi Tony, I'm glad you found your way here. I was going to suggest you pose your question to me here. Personally, I have only been to Fish Lake once, and I only fished from the shore at the Twin Creeks area, so I do not have much help for you. You should get the help you need here.

The areas in the north and the lodge are the most popular, early morning is best. One of the dock store people is named kenneth, he fishes the lake alot from a canoe and may be able to give you a few more pointer, he usually works at the lodge marina
