obviously a downrigger is the most precise way to fish dodgers. but, since you dont have that option you could flatline dodgers, use lead line, or even use trolling sinkers.(a few feet in front of the dodger) all of these methods can get you fish, but it can be tough to know for certain what depth you are fishing. (and consistently get back there) just experiment and see what happens. what are you fishing for?

We are trying for; Koks, Bass, and macks. I thought that I would use a reel with a line counter and long line. For smalleys I plan to throw crank bates and jigs. For the macks we will go deep leaded line with large flat fish. If that doesn't work. We will try large jigs. (Time permeating)
All comments will de appreciated. [signature]

you may need to add a trolling sinker with the leaded line to get deep enough for kokes. you definately will need to add weight to get deep enough for macs. lead line, in my experience, kind of maxes out around 40 or so feet deep. but, maybe thats just my rig? i'd add some weight to it.
you shouldnt have any trouble running dodgers off of a lead line rig. id use a 10 foot flourocarbon or mono leader when fishing for kokes. they seem to be somewhat wary of colored lines. are you going to be fishing the gorge? how much experience do you have there? there are tons of people who im sure will be willing to give you great info here! take care, bkidder [signature]
