I was going to be heading up to the northwest corner of utah (grouse creek) and was wondering if there were and ponds or streams with fish in them? It seems to not have much water but i thought i would ask the experts!
Thanks

You might be able to find a new kind of trout, the Sage Trout. I haven't seen any fishable water out there. I'm sure there is some around. Sublette, Idaho is a little ways from there but there's a stream and lake there with some nice fish. Or has been in years past.

Locomotive springs might be a decent bet for a trout or two. Also some carp i think.

Thats what i was afraid of. I am going to go crazy up in that dry corner. I guess i will just have to pack my rod and a few flys just incase i run across some water.

Take an ak-47 or a shotgun and vaporize some jack rabbits.[sly][sly][sly]

Locamotive Springs is not to bad a bet. Sometimes the fishing for planter trout can be great. It is located off the north end of the Great Salt Lake.

Goose Creek Reservoir in Idaho is the closest fishing hole to Grouse Creek.

By this time of year, the birds have put the hurt on the little troutskies out there. They stop planting in march because of them. You can still get some big carp though.

Is this going to be a temporary thing or is this a permanant relocation? There's some mighty fine chuckar hunting and deer hunting out there.

Sounds like there are not much options out that way. thank you for everyone that has helped me from spinning my wheels looking for a place to fish. If i end up getting over to Locomotive springs i will have to try for some big carp on the fly rod. I will let you all know how things went.
Thanks again

I just saw your post but to let you know, there are a few small streams that have trout in them. Talk to some of the locals, I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. The area I'm familiar with is by Yost and Clear creek, it is a little drive but not too far. Get a map and check it out, I think it is in the Sawtooth national forest. Good luck and let us know how you do. WH2

When we were up there in Grouse Creek trying to do a fence earlier this year my dad told me about Critonin(dont' even know if the spelling's right) reservoir just out side of Montello, Nevada. Said there were big trout in there. That might be an option.
Also, years ago, my dad and uncle would knock them dead on Clear Creek around Yost durring the rifle deer hunt. Look for the beaver ponds and you'll catch fish.
I'd get ya dirrections, but my dad would kill me at this hour of night. Sorry.
