Spirit Lake - High Uintas

I just got back from Spirit Lake. It was cool and mostly sunny. The fish were rising to flies, but I couldn't figure our which pattern they wanted. When it came time to catch dinner, I switched to Rainbow PowerBait and caught my limit of pan-size rainbows in about half an hour. Shore fishing was best next to road, where it's deeper.

I guess I will remember this trip, since I learned that Doug Miller's passed away while I was out doing some of the things he adored. I loved Doug and will miss his Saturday night show.

Fished that Spirit lake myself a few times,great country up there.Did you ever hike up to Tamarack lake?We will all miss old Doug.

Yes, we hiked to Tamarack and Jesson lakes. In previous years we caught nice brookies out of Judy Lake, but we didn't try it this time.
