Just a reminder....

[black]Hope everyone is getting out and having a lot of fun catching fish and enjoying what's left of our summer. Before we know it, the leaves will be turning and frost will be on the pumpkins.[/black]
[black][/black]
[black]I been communicating with several people and some sensitive issues have risen. There has been discussions about ethics, questionable practices, and other issues that evoke a lot of emotion on both sides of issues. There have been some concerns that individuals, companies, groups, etc. are being publicly smear with accusations that may or may not be totally accurate. [/black]
[black][/black]
[black]I am asking folks that when these type of topics come up and you wish to respond that you think about what you are going to say, especially if it is considered negatively aimed against individuals, companies, groups, etc. Comments in a public forum can be considered slanderous and individuals can be held accountable for the words they write, especially if livelihoods are impacted and/or compromised.[/black]
[black][/black]
[black]Also, how would you like it if you posted a report of a great fishing trip you had and wanted to share it with others and the report gets hijacked on a tangent about topics that are about everything but your report? If you're like me, it may be the first and last time you will ever post again and that is a loss for everyone here.[/black]
[black][/black]
[black]An open forum is a double edged sword. It can be a great place for folks to get together, exchange reports, ask questions and receive knowledge, and enjoy camaraderie. It can also be a place where negativity, aggressiveness, and downright ignorant, slanderous exchanges can take place. It's a fine edge we try to balance to keep it a relatively friendly place for everyone to hangout but still allow frank, lively, open discussion about controversial topics and issues. [/black]
[black][/black]
[black]Again, please consider the ramifications of your words, statements, and actions before you decide to post. As has been said before, if you don't have anything nice to say about others it might be wiser to say nothing at all. Nuff said...[/black]

well said, i think we all need to be a bit slower to attack eachother about every little thing. it seems we cant even get a good mac report without this happening. its a shame, but some of our best reporters have stopped giving reports. i learned a long time ago in life to be very careful to not jump to conclusions too quickly. this is even tougher to avoid online. im sure your words will make us all think a little more before responding/reacting! thanks a lot, bkidder

[cool]Man, I've had to cut back on my BFT and other surfing while at work recently to increase my productivity (mostly commission based job-mortgages), so I guess I've missed a lot of this negative crap, but by the sounds of things, I'm glad I did miss it.

Just a kudos to our three great mods. I'm glad I don't have their jobs on this board, but they all do a heck of a great job!! Glad you guys are around to keep a little order around here...

OK BFT,

You all make valid points on leaving and posting or not!

I chose to keep silent for some time but I still contribute to the site by moderating and piping in from time to time. My most pleasurable experiences are pm's and fishing trips with whom I choose. Do not let a single or multiple reports foul your feelings of this site. The bad tend to leave and the true and blue stay faithfull to this site and the other members.

With that being said.... Listen to our mods and administrators advise, enjoy the site, and hang in there! We all say, type, or speak something out of text or hurtful at times (human nature) but to recover is a true measure of ones personality. Be supportive and enjoy our great tool to learn from and meet fellow fisherfolks.

Dont be the problem be the solution!

I enjoy the diversity, but keep it friendly.

Back to the Idaho board and my restoration boat!
