The DWR utah cordinator, Wilson has propsed new fishing and hunting fees. They plan to lower deer and elk licenses, raise small game licences, and lower combination licenses, also for scolfield they want the trout limit at eight fish. The second pole perimt they want good for all of the state. They is some more state wide changes. The 12 & 13 year old they want them to buy a $5.00 license good for a year. Let the DWR know how you feel and give them your input, they want it. I think this is a great change. If you want post a message and I will get it to Wilson he is my neighbor.

[cool][#0000ff]How about removing the restriction on keeping perch at Yuba? They are thick in there now and some big ones too. Maybe just a 10 fish limit for another year or two, but there could be some harvest without hurting the fishery.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]And, while they are at it, how about a larger limit (or no limit) on perch at Starvation?[/#0000ff]

You forgot about the new walleye proposal...it looks like the DWR is going to liberalize the limits on walleye!

They may be liberalizing the walleye limit, but it isn't liberal enough.
I'm still waiting for the DWR to impose mandatory kills on illegally stocked fish. I can't for the life of me figure out why they would put a limit on perch at Mantua, or any other lake with fish that were illegally introduced. If there were a limit, it should be a mandatory "if you catch it, kill it" regulation. That might keep the bucket bios from moving fish around...

Your right there is a something new on walleye. I personally like these new regulations and them reducing most of the licences, that obtain to me.

The rason they put limits on the fish that are illegally introduced is so the people that like to eat and or catch them don't overdue themselves with the fish, they look at it as it is not the fishes falt is in there, it is the fisherman (The people that illegally put them there). The would be more people upset that the DWR had no limit on them and could just kill as many as they wanted. My favorite lake was introduced with Burbot at the Flaming Gorge, they set a 25 limit on them, but any that you catch you have to kill. They set this for the fish, not the people. I did not like it when they put those in the gorge, but should we take it out on the fish, No. I would love to kill every lake trout I catch at the gorge because I hate them, I like to fish for kokanees, now do I keep the Lake trout becasue I don't like them and just throw them away or kill them and throw them back in the water No. There are people that like Lake trout, just Like people that like Perch and the person that fishes there likes perch and put them there, they are wrong to do that however you can't take it out on the fish. There are people that will take them.

The RAC's are coming up. Everyone that has a suggestion should attend and voice their opinions. Whether we like it or not, that is the format that the DWR has to have us influence the regs.

Overall the changes seem to be reasonable. I agree with the illegal fish. If they weren't intended to be in the lake, don't limit the catch. Of course some bucket bios might take that as a reason to plant other fish closer to home so they can just go out and catch their favorite species....I wish they would just leave the fish where the biologists think they belong. Sure you can argue warm vs cold water, but heck, let the paid pros do their job.
Attend the RAC's if you want your voice heard.

Look at Yellowstone lake. If you catch a mack, it is illegal to "not" kill it. They will cite you for it. It is also not against the law to leave them lay. I don't see why there is a limit on the perch or other bucket bio fish.

i like the idea of reduced combo license, and reduced fee for residents on deer and elk i love, Its i can get two antlerless pronghorn tags for wyoming for about 20 dollars more than a resident elk permit here. And my chances to draw on pronghorn here are about null to zilch. Any word about more turkey here? When we head up towards morgan for the grouse hunting the turkey are all over, but only 5 permits for the area?, i wonder if they plan on releasing more and more and adding to some more spring hunts, that would be awsome! Alas thats just some of my thoughts.

2 poles statewide. Sounds like twice the fun to me. I'd pay for that.
