[cool][#0000ff]There was a writeup in the Tight Lines section of the Tribune this morning, by Brett Prettyman. He jumped in and tried to find out what's the what with the perch thing at Yuba. His words are not heartening. apparently we will have to wait until at least Jan. 1, 2008 to harvest any perch from that lake.[/#0000ff]

So got to the RAC meetings like he mentioned and tell them you want it open to perch. The RACs pass on suggestions from the public to the Wildlife Board which makes the decision. If they ask DWR biologists if Yuba can be opened to perch harvest they will say yes...

My 2 cents..
Its my guess it wont be long before the perchies eat themselves out of house and home without some sort of control.
Without big preds. to take care of the over population of Perch that will accure a downward spiral of stunting will probably take place quickly.

If enough voices are heard at the RAC, they will likey change their minds about the opening date. Of course if a bunch of eye chasers show up and chime in on waiting, it will just be put off again.

I'll go & can take 3 easy, 4 if ya don't mind sittin' kinda close and 5 if the aforementioned is the case and there arent any bucketbutts.
I don't know where it's gonna be held or what time (guess I could read Prettymans article) so if somebody will let me know, we can get a group scattered together.

[cool][#0000ff]I'm a "wide load", but I'll trade you a ride for a repaired rod. It has been sitting in the corner of my "shop" whimpering to go fishing again.[/#0000ff]

Not at all. I personally think there are plenty of the perchies to go around now....but if enough people are against it, it won't happen.

[#0000ff]Also, I have been given two different start times. One is 6:30 and the other 7 PM. If they start on "Utah Standard Time" that means about 8. I will be there probably closer to the 6:30 slot.[/#0000ff]
