Willard South ?
#1
[Wink][font "Comic Sans MS"][black][size 3][#008058] Heading out to the south end of willard on friday, have not heard much on what is a good spot or what to use, I have been out there the past two weekends and I guess I used the wrong things, as a coach I want to learn to teach others the ART of fishing, I was using Crome color and Dark Blue or Dark Gray on the top some of the rapellas had a little red on the bottom, I guess all in all I used about 15 different kinds of things, in the past I have been very sucessful but the luck has rubed off, The trolling speed for wayeye was 1.5 and for wyper 2.5 - 3.0 mph with a gps reading, Any sugesstions are welcome, Also A BIG THANKS TO OLD_COOT for getting me into the postings I could always read but not send postings. I want to some day Coach others in the Art of great Fishing! FishNCoach[/#008058] [/size][/black][/font]

Welcome to the boards! [Smile]

While throwing or trolling hard stuff can be VERY productive at times, I have found that as it gets a little bit later in the year, the fish need to be finessed a little bit more. TD and I were out the day before yesterday, and neither of us scored any wipers on the Rapala type lures, although we both threw them for awhile.

Right now the fish seem to be near the bottom of the water column. I prefer throwing white or green jigs, and slowly bounce them back to you. If you don't get any that way, change the retrieve. TD and I both caught wipers on dead minnows dragged SLOWLY accross the bottom early in the morning, and I scored another vertically jigging a Kastmaster.

If the water clarity isn't great (it should be clearing up a little, until the next storm) try the more high vis colors. Black and chartreuse can be good colors.

Again, welcome to the boards.... Glad to have you here! [cool]
