[cool][#0000ff]Sounds like a good plan for Colorado, but what was not mentioned is the impact such a project might have on the Colorado River and all of the downstream users of that dwindling resource. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]We had a documentary on PBS here a while back that discussed the entire Colorado River system and how the water is used. Flaming Gorge dam was a part of the overall project and it was second choice from the original dam site proposed near Vernal. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]There are already several western states fighting over every drop of water that hits the Colorado River. The end result is that Mexico no longer gets more than a tiny trickle of nasty recycled and salty fluid too poor to be used for irrigation or drinking. That guy will have to work a miracle to get approval to siphon off the amount of water he is proposing.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]How to stop him? I suggest something in a .45 caliber...or larger.[/#0000ff]

I may live on the Front Range, but I certainly don't want to see any water diverted from the Gorge, or anywhere on the Green. This is a BAD idea for the Green River watershed!

This sounds like something that Western Resource Advocates should be working on. Their main office is in Boulder, and they're heavily involved in water issues in Colorado.
