fishing advice

I am planning on coming down to texas on the 3-4 of november to go fishing with my uncle and brother for tuna and sharks out of port aransas and am wondering if anyone has some advice on favorite lines and lures to use. I may rent some of my gear, but would like to bring my own real and lures to suppliment. I also make my own jigs so if jig fishing works please pipe in with some good colors and weights.
