UPDATED BY PAT ON FRIDAY, October
27th, 2006
STRIPED BASS- It almost looks like a fall run of years gone by. Theres
been bass hanging around the shoreline hoping to eat some bunker or
shad before they start heading south. The estuaries such as the
Connecticut and Niantic Rivers have schoolies a few jumbos. As usual the bridge
openings have the most action. The Connecticut and Old Lyme beaches have
given up a few cows this past week. Theres still some bunker in the
Connecticut River, Clinton and Westbrook Harbors and Niantic, mixed in are
some hickory shad.
Montauk has school to medium sized bass for casters from both shore
and boat. The RI South Shore has some dawn and dusk action but generally
lacks bait to hold them near shore.
BLUEFISH- The Race, Plum Gut and Southwest Reefs have a load of medium
to large blues, at times they're on the surface. Chunkers are still
getting some in the River, but the action has slowed significantly. There
have been some blitzes this week in Niantic Bay, Fenwood and the
Saybrook Town Beach.
PORGIES- Not too many reports this week.
BLACKFISH- The catches have been good with more anglers catching limits
than not. We have had good reports from Black Point, Waterford and the
mouth of the Thames.
FALSE ALBACORE- Last report we had was Monday at Harkness and across
the Sound at Rocky Point.
BONEFISH- We have a few openings on one of our February, 2007 trips to
Acklins Island. Call me if you'd like to find out more.
HOURS- Monday -Friday 6am to 6pm
Saturday 6am to 5pm
Sunday 6am to 4pm
