This is my first post, I read the trip reports all the time and decided it was time to contribute.
Went down to Yuba Saturday morning and had a great time. I started fishing at 7:00 am and it was pretty slow and cold. At about 7:30 I hooked up with a good perch and things started to heat up from there. All in all I ended up catching and releasing 9 perch, 1 19" rainbow and 1 carp by 9:00. They were all caught on a green or white jig from the dam. I only seen two other people and 1 boat.

[cool][#0000ff]Welcome aboard and thanks for the post. Glad you found a few fish. That lake has been stingy with the big trout this fall, even though there have been plenty of perch to at least provide some action.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I made about 4 trips down there last fall, but I think after my trip in late October I will stick with closer and more kindly waters. Plenty of other places to catch more trout and since you can't keep the perch it is hardly worth the effort.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I'll definitely be back in the spring...not just for the trout, but to prospect for some walleye and maybe a big pike.[/#0000ff]

Your right about the trout, nothing like last year, but with it only being 25 min. from my house and with so many perch it is a great place to take my 3 year old girl to catch some fish. She is still talking about the trip and wants to go agian on friday. Great times.
