Two 2 pole permit questions.
#1
For those of you who have fished in Idaho or Wyoming, do they issue 2nd pole permits, or do they allow you to use multiple rods with your "regular" license?

And what about the kids? Do those who are young enough to fish without a license have to have a 2 pole permit to use one? Or do they enjoy the freedom of using 2 poles without a license just as they do fishing without a license?

Not sure off hand, but both states have websites with all you need to know. Hope this helps.

Great question to post on the Idaho and Wyoming BFT boards.

Okay, I did my own research. Wyoming allows 2 poles, without additional permits, stamps, or expense. They have certain waters that have ice fishing exceptions that allow up to 6 lines. Idaho sells a 2 pole validation. They also have an ice fishing clause that doesn't require a 2 pole permit, and provides for up to 5 lines when ice fishing. That is, unless I'm reading their proclamations wrong.

Utah will make a juvenile who would not otherwise need a license, buy a license first, and then add on a 2 pole permit. I guess they're just a little bit greedier than our neighbors to the north and east.

[cool][#0000ff]Utah has a lot of "innovative" ideas when it comes to writing their proclamation. I have fished all over the country and everytime I reread the Utah regs I find a few things that make me go "Hm-m-m-m-m".[/#0000ff]

Idaho also has some waters that are one pole only durring ice season.
It doesn't matter which state you fish in, they all have their funny laws.
