My Dad has A MarCum flasher that he bought last year. I would like to add to it by getting a aqua-vu. I like staying in the tent and having the jig up aways so that i can just watch it from up top but it get really hot in there and like it a little better out side thats why i would like to get one. I am going to get the scout and was wondering about how far out you can see with it. Can you just see fish that are really close to your jig or can you see them come from aways. It will be used mostly at Strawberry.

In the wintertime one can see about 8-10 feet at Strawberry. In the summer maybe 2 feet.

The scout will work good to monitor just one ice hole's bait/jig. I have a top end Aqua Vu ( direction indicator, depth and temp). To be honest, I have been very dissappointed with the usable viewing distance. As the previous response indicated, you'll get 8-10' of viewing (MAX) ice fishing. During the summer, there are so many suspended particles in water, ( reflective) it's impossible to see more than a few feet.

i would buy a low end model from a place that has a good no hassle refund policy. this will give you the general idea of aqua viewing and you can decide from there if you want to spend more money. i did this last year and have heavy doubts about taking it back. i love it and can't wait to hit the hard deck. laters

Your brother in law is going to be at your house Friday morning. And I don't think there is anyway in hell you could get him to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving.
