Lore and Tracking Weekend at Twin Falls Resort State Park
#1
Visitors can enjoy a trip back to the 18th Century during "Lore and Tracking Weekend," January 12-14, 2007, at Twin Falls Resort State Park, near Mullens, West Virginia.

The focus of the weekend is on learning how our ancestors tracked the animals that provided food and clothing. Participants will be taken on track walks and then have a chance to put these new skills into use with the scavenger hunt. Other topics of the weekend include Indian stories, edible and medicinal plants and an 18th century trading camp.

Trails Inc. instructors and guides for the weekend are Doug Wood, Dianne Anestis, Mike Little, Sue Little and Tiffany Little. Activities begin on Friday night with games and a night hike. Saturday features an 18th century style dinner.

Overnight accommodations are available in either the Twin Falls Lodge or at a cabin. Package prices include lodging, Saturday dinner, break refreshments and all event activities. Package pricing is $169 for one person with two nights of accommodation in the lodge or $232 for two people with two nights of accommodation in the lodge. Cabin rates and other options are available.

Advance reservations are required. For more information, call (304) 294-4000 or 1-800-CALL WVA and ask for Twin Falls Resort State Park or e-mail twinfallsresort@wvdnr.gov.
