Larva lace caddis

A simple fly for starting to tie.

Scud hook 18-12
6/0 black thread
chartreuse larva lace

Start the thread at the head and tie down the lace at the head(thread should never leave the head area). wrap the lace down to the bend then back over itself to the eye tie it off and whip finish.

sizes depend on the season
October to December- 18
December to Febuary - 16
Febuary to April -14
April on -12

Whitefish cannot resist size 18 any time of year.

Add a peacock herl head to it.
Use red or yellow larva lace on them also.
