I could use some help with booties Please
#1
I have a pair of cabelas Breathable waders and am shopping for some 5mm dive boots to go over them. I am a size 9 to 9.5 and am looking at purchasing some Mares Classic Dive boots to go over them. What I am wondering is should I go with the 10 or 11 the do not have half sizes in them. I am also open to any other suggestions.

Thanks

The key to good booties is to make sure you have enough room as to not cramp your feet. You would be best to go into the dive shop with your waders and the type of socks that you plan on wearing.

Two key elements of the socks are for 1. Warmth. Make sure they will keep your feet warm as cold feet tend to cramp up quicker.

2.Whicker. The sock become a good whicker to keep your feet dry in case you get too warm.

Chose the right socks for the amount of warmth and comfort that you desire and make sure they are absorbent.

Take the gear with you to the dive shop (as I already mentioned) and get everything fitted at the same time.

I suppose you already have some comfortable Fins that will just slip right over the booties, right??

If not, go ahead and fit the whole combo in one trip. It will save you more gas, time and be more productive for your fishing schedule.[cool]

Actually i just got my fins for x-mas. A pair of Mares Avanti X3's. And they fit over my waders now and if i take out the little insert they will fit very nicely over a pair of boots.

[cool][#0000ff]I have about six pairs of different sizes and types of footwear to cover the soft neoprene foot pockets on my waders. I wear a size 13 shoe, so my options are more limited.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You have already been given the best advice. Whatever you buy, don't go by shoe size, but by actual fit. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Just a suggestion. Since you do not have huge feet (like some of us), you should probably be able to get satisfactory protection on your soft neoprene wader feet with some cheap "reef walkers". Hard to find them in stores at this time of year, but they make them in all sizes, up to 13. I use them in the summer or over my waders when I am not bulking up too much with extra socks. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You don't need neoprene boots. They do not add much to the insulation, if you layer right. All they do is provide a hard sole for walking in your neoprene waders.[/#0000ff]
