Review: Good sonar at a good price
#1
Hi All, since you guys helped me out allot last year in picking out my new ( fat cat) tube , I figure I'd pass this along.

Cabelas has bottom line 1101 fishfinders with surface temp on clearance for $39. It's unadvertized at the moment but if you plug in part # 49G - 015715 it should come up. Nice little unit. Waterproof/dunkable, small, lightweight, sips current and easy to use. What I like best ( besides the price) is that it has a unique transducer that is small, somewhat arrowhead shaped and (3/8") flat.
Just back it with velcro and it sticks nice to the bottom of a tube, toon, yak, etc. No PITA mounting . ( I keep my rig in a small soft sided lunch box and use it right out of there. That way, it's portable and gets carried from tube to yak to canoe.)
About the only down side I see with the unit ( and it's a small one) is that it has a NARROW 9 deg beam. This means it's not going to pick up allot of actual fish. It is fine however for finding depth and structure.

No affiliation with either Cabelas or bottom line. yada yada. Just happy with the product

Thanks for the review. It's always nice to see products through the eyes of others.

I too have a Bottomline. It is the 1100 model. You are right though, they don't gulp juice very fast.[cool]
