With less than 5 weeks away from the beginning of the 2007 World Championship Surf & Shore Anglers Tournament season. The largest Surfcasting tournament in the world 90 mile beach Snapper Classic in New Zealand may become the first sprint to where the World Championship Silver Cup will reside.

(PRWeb) January 12, 2007 -- February 13 brings the traditional start of the 2007 World Championship Surf & Shore Anglers Tournament during the annual 90 mile Beach Snapper Classic in New Zealand.

Over 1000 Surfcasters from around the world including teams from South Africa, Australia and Ireland are converging on 90 miles Beach in New Zealand for the 5 day annual surf fishing tournament. With bountiful catches of big snapper coming off the New Zealand shores this season, the 28 year old Snapper Classic is primed to produce the first 2007 world championship Top Contenders in the chase to reel in the coveted World Champion silver cup. This would be a complete shift from the 2006 tournament season dominance of the Delmarva region in North America by the Ocean City, Maryland Top Contenders.

But with the pre-entrance of the 2006 US Eastern Coast Champion Donna Gutheridge in the 2007 tournament season and a mild winter on the Delaware, Maryland and Virginia shores. Strippers and Bluefish are still on the Delmarva beaches. And if 2006 Ocean City Top Contender Charles Oliver Fuller III enters the 2007 tournament season early he could possibly set the pace on the 2007 contenders board based on his large catches of Strippers, Bluefish's and Flounders which made him the Cinderella surfcaster in the final quarter of the 2006 World Championship season.

And Cinderella stories maybe the highlight of the 2007 World Championship tournament season with two 2007 pre-entrances from Wendell and Nags Head North Carolina. North Carolina Contenders Eric Christiansen and William Angle could be strategically planning there 2007 tournament season run for the silver cup on the fame Outer Banks fishing grounds in North Carolina. And if Singapore Surf & Shore casters show up to challenge for the World Championship Silver cup with their bountiful catches of snapper and tremendous size stingrays the 2007 contender board could see saw in the Top 5 contender seats from World Championship contenders from all over the world.

But the ultimately the 2007 World Championship Surf & Shore Anglers Tournament first challengers that could set pace for the tournament season could come from the 1000 plus Surfcasters from around the world fishing over 5 days in the 90-mile beach Snapper Classic starting on February 13th.
