Western Hunting and Conservation Expo Gears Up for Large Crowds
#1
Sidney, Nebraska - The upcoming Western Hunting and Conservation Expo (WHCE) is gearing up to educate and entertain thousands of attendees from across Utah and the surrounding region. The Expo is sponsored by Cabela's, and the World's Foremost Outfitter's participation in the Expo continues the retailer's 45-year commitment to conservation of wildlife and wild lands. The Expo is taking place January 17-20, 2007, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

"Cabela's goal is to increase awareness of the need for conservation and expose more sportsmen and women to the efforts of major conservation organizations such as the Foundation of North American Wild Sheep, the Mule Deer Foundation and Sportsmen for Habitat," said Dennis Highby, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cabela's. "The Western Hunting and Conservation Expo is a great opportunity to put these issues at the forefront, while providing an entertaining and educational event for sportsmen and their families."

The WHCE will be the first convention featuring three major conservation organizations in one venue and is expected to attract nearly 30,000 sportsmen and women from the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Up to 500 outfitters and exhibitors offering hunting information and adventures from around the world will be on hand. Attendees will have the opportunity at drawing one of 200 premium Utah hunting licenses, including trophy elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep and bison tags available to sportsmen who apply in person for a $5 per hunt application fee. Discount admission tickets to the expo are available at Cabela's Lehi, Utah and Boise, Idaho retail locations.
