Fished Holmes Creek, met up with Midge and another Bft'r. (Sorry I'm bad with names) Probably 25 people when I got on the ice at 3pm. There was a steady stream of people leaving soon after.
Most every one had a fish or 2, there were bites. Just after sunset, the screen lit up and I caught 2 nice crappie and this bad boy in the space of 15 minutes.
Then in a few short minutes he turned into this.
(Tried to inline the photo's, I'll read up.)

Where is Holmes Creek? I've seen some really nice mixed bag reports from there this winter, but I've never herd of it before this winter.

Off of Highway 89. It's the next road past Oak Ridge. Turn West off 89 and circle around to a golf course. You can see where to park. The first hill is not bad but the dam face is a bit tough because of the rocks.
Nice pond, depths near the dam were 20 to 25. Deepest water I found is about 30 ft near the middle. I have best sucess from 15 to 25 feet.

They were very good! I love fresh fish and any white meat panfish becomes fish tacos.
It's a smal place and I brought home only 2 fish. Enough for dinner.
I might go back tomorrow.
