First I have to thank Idahopanfish it was your report that made me drive across the desert; one of my favorite drives in the early am. Arrived just before 8:00 am and set up. If you have a hand auger prepare for 30+ inches of ice[pirate] I thought the day was going to be fast when I landed a bow after putting my first rod in; the day indeed was great, but the early morning success was a false omen. From 8:00-1:15 pm we only iced one koke. Then came a few more people, and I discovered this meant action was going to pick up, at 1:30 fish started to bite and this continued until I left at 4:45pm. In the end we iced 2 bows and 18 kokes; we kept our limits in salmon and through a few back. Like idahopanfish has pointed out in general just do 5-7 cranks off the bottom, however, if you have a fish finder and can pick up any suspended ones these fish are very aggressive. I knew my Vexilar was going to pay off[
] I caught a lot of fish in the 12 foot range. The fish were really never in what I would call a school, but in twos and threes. Most fish were in the 11' inch range wth one hitting 14'. They hit light 1/32 oz pink and red jigs. Best bait seemed to be wax worms. I may go back this week to try my luck again, but I will avoid the am.
