Once again, I can't seem to get the text and pictures into the same post.

Anyway, I got tired of disassabling kickboats, and didn't feel saft hauling them in a pickup or open trailer, so I aquired a utility trailer, and modified it to the pictures above. I built two carpeted bunkers in the bottom for rods and oars, installed the mid-height shelves for a second boat, carpeted the trailer interior, and setup boxes in the front for batteries, motors, and two large nylon bags for boots, waders, PFD, etc. Going this route, I am able to just hook on, and take off. It provides me with the security required to park it anywhere (hotels, parking lots, etc.) without concern. I hope that some of my ideas will help out anyone with my previous problems. That is an awsome idea especially if you have the room for an extra trailer on your proberty. It's nice to see that you planned the inner space carefull enough for an extra Toon and rod storage.

As far as the pics go and getting them in the same post, try to shrink them down first to about 400 x 300 pixels. They tend to attach a lot quicker and you can then add them into the post easier. Thanks for sharing the trailer design with us. I'm sure you did answer a few other peoples silent question on the "How to" part. I also notices that we share a similar taste in tools. I have DeWalt and Ryobi as well.[cool] [signature]

[black][size 3]Saberfish, SWEEEETTTT! also Jealous. We want to do that so bad. Problem we have is our boats are 11/1/2' long so that trailer is gonna have to be a 12'.[/size][/black]

[black][size 3]Back when we had our Motor Home we took a week long trip to Idaho. I have a BAND EQUIPMENT trailer that is 8' by 4'. We had to deflate the boats and hooked them horizontally on each wall with the middle open for batteries, pumps, BBQ, etc.[/size][/black] [black][size 3]The only problem we had was that we had to pack up came every day to get to the lake. Up side on that is we could go to shore and have a nice warm lunch.[/size][/black] [black][size 3]Got a Truck and a camping Trailer now, so, deflate one boat and put in the bad, the other on the rack on the roof of the shell. Once we set up camp, we can inflate the other boat, but this will be interesting getting to the lake. 11 1/2' boat in a 5'8" truck bed (well, 7'8" with the gate open)[/size][/black] [signature] |
