Jordanelle 2/19
#1
Fished Jordanelle today with Tincanfsh and two grandsons. We parked at the bottom of the ramp at Hailstone and walked a couple bays north (long walk!) of the first large bay. Caught some decent perch and a couple huge chubs at the first location and when it slowed down, we decided to go fish in the thick timber (I have got to learn to never leave fish to go looking for fish). Not so sure that I like fishing in the trees, fishfinders are next to useless with all of the tree branches, and there were few fish to be caught. Caught a decent trout and Billy caught a few perch and that was it. We could have headed home at noon and not missed much. It was plenty cold with a strong north wind for almost the entire day. No problem getting on or off of the ice, and the ice is a good foot thick with about an inch of snow on most of the ice.

Nice report Kent. Sounds like you should stay away from the trees. Those vex's don't work very well through tree branches.[Wink]

[cool]Great report, kent. How many perch did you guys pull out of that first hole you were at? Also, how were the edges when you got off the ice? I was going to give up ice fishing for the year and break out my tube next Saturday to go fish at a place were there's 70 degree water (hint hint) for bass, and gils, but maybe I'll stay close to home and hit the ice one last time at Hailstone...

We didn't count them, but probably about 15-20. The edges were no problem at all.
