Snook Slot May Go Up In Florida
[Image: nl_news5_220x210.jpg] SQUEEZE PLAY: A total-length measurement law in Florida begins July 1.
Photo: Barry & Cathy BeckThe Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved a total-length measurement regulation that goes into effect July 1. Anglers must measure snook from the most forward point of the head, with the mouth closed, to the farthest tip of the tail while it's squeezed together. Since total-length measurement adds about 3Ú4 inch, the FWC is expected to increase the limit to a 27- to 35-inch slot for the fall season. A final decision was not available at press time.

Yes, the infamous pinched tail law. They have been kicking it around for a while. Laws are so hard to follow here, pinched tail/open tail, fork length/over all length, then there are seperate rules for state and federal waters.[crazy] Don't even ask about charter laws and rules.

LOL, we have our share of funky rules and regs. I think Cali is the worst of the states for that though. They've got some crazy stuff going on over there.
