SPI surf 3/3/03
#1
[#008080]My fishing partner, Clint, and I got to the beach at about noon. The surf was really rolling and the beach had some large cuts washed in it.This made for some unhappy driving so we only drove about a mile before we deciding we better stop and fish while we could.the fishing was slow.We caught a few piggies and whiting on shrimp, squid, and fishbites.I did manage to get my line stretched a little though.[/#008080] See picture.

You think it was rough driving through the cuts? Try to do it with a bus! Now that can be scarry!
Sorry to hear abought the rough surf and the slow bite. I hope your next trip will be alot smoother and alot more productive.

Are you ready for the Tournament next month on the 12th?
I am getting a prety good line of prizes confermed and it gets better every day.

Keep a close eye on the board as just before the first of Aprill I will be posting details on how and where to find me for the Get Together and the Tournament. I will be there early so I won't have time after that to post again untill the 17th or 18th of Aprill.

This was taken off of BobHall pier reasently.

Don Jeffers with a 41" beautiful Bull Red!

AND this was taken from the beach somewhere between there and Port Aransas last week.

Terry Browning of Port Aransas went fishing Saturday in the surf south of Port A. and caught this big redfish after a 20 minute fight. The fish weighed 27 1/2 pounds and was 42 1/2 inches long.

I did not receive any info on what was used to catch eather, but if I do I will add it to the post.
