What a drag!

[black][size 3]I had every intention of fishing Willard today with Majja and Tube Dude. In fact, I was busy tying special flies last week and even stressing....a little[Wink][/size][/black]
[black][size 3]My band played this last weekend out in Magna, and I ended up with what I believe to be the flu. (I am coinvinced it is in the water out there)[/size][/black]
[black][size 3]Anyway, last night I went to bed at 5:00p.m. with ice piks going through my head, cough, aches all over and FREEZING on the warmest day of the year. Feeling a little better today except for the sniffulous.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3]I hope you guys still wentr and had a KILLER day.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3]TD, we got to plan a weekend thing so I can get the Old man in on it.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3]Again, I am sorry and I wouldof, if I couldof.[/size][/black]

FG: It has been about 10 years since I lived in Utah -- But from what I remember you have what out for those "Magna Women". (There was a parody song when I was in high school that dissed Magna) [Smile]

It's been about 25 years since I was anywhere near Magna. Does the tap water still taste like Sulfur???[crazy]

T2, things haven't changed. You can still spill the water on stainless steel and it'll still eat through it. It does however, make a hell of a good grease remover for your driveway.

You know what is kind of odd?? When I was out there, is people in the SLC area would complain less about the taste of the Magna water than the Magna people would complain about the SLC water.

I never could get the hang of the tast of the Magna water. It tasted kind of like a Matchbook Tea with a couple of extra tablespoons of Sulfur for good measures.[pirate]

[cool][#0000ff]I figured you must either be on your deathbed or that the old man put the clamps on and didn't want you socializin' with a bunch of us nonlint tubers and tooners.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We missed ya, but it ain't the end of the world...yet. We have a long open water season ahead of us and many great angling opportunities. If nothing else, let's plan on a multitackle assault on Huntington after the ice is off. Plenty of tiger trout and they are very openminded about what gear you use.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Otherwise, there are going to be grundles of white bass, walleyes and BIG kitties at Utah Lake for the next few weeks.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Weekends are fine with us. We just try to fit in some weekday stuff to minimize the number of powercraft and idjits.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Hope you are feeling better. I will copy and paste the post from the Utah board so some of our non-Utah tubers and tooners can get the gist.[/#0000ff]

[black][size 3]Thanks TD, maybe you could do me a favor and cruse over to the Fly Tying forum and Let Thudpucker know what a TIGER TROUT is. I mentioned that Pound for Pound they are a fighting fish, but I think he doubts my opinion. LOL[/size][/black]

[black][size 3]That hand and sleeve look familiar, did you hook that?[/size][/black]
[black][size 3]The old man caught a couple down south last year ("S") all I caught was trout. Not complaining cause they were all good size but I would have loved to hook a normal size Tiger instead of the Uinta size.[cool][/size][/black]

[cool][#0000ff]Of course I caught that fish...and about 25 others that day. Biggest was about 19". Smallest about 14". Beautiful fish. A couple just about jumped into the tube with me.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Here are some pics for the tiger trout impaired.[/#0000ff]

Don't want to to sound like a brag on my fishing prowess, but on a trip to Canada, I hooked a few small tigers, and then on a small lake, I hooked a major fish (If I told you what I estimated the size, you would surely call me a liar) But I fought the thing long enough for another tooner to come over to take a picture and loan me his large landing net. When I had it close enough to net, and he had his camera ready, it went into the net, and as I was ready to get hold of it, he flipped, went thru and broke the net, waved his tail goodbye, and left both of us shaking our head.

I can attest to how that fish was to catch, he was really strong. I had always thought that if I caught a 10 pound smallmouth, I would never be able to land it, but it seems like a toss up between the two.

I have landed some large fish in both still water, and rivers, and that tiger will always be a good impressive memory.

[cool][#0000bf]I will be "personing" (politically correct) the Utah Anglers Coalition booth Thursday and Saturday. I will also be helping take down on Sunday. Fishing is out. [/#0000bf]
[#0000bf][/#0000bf]
[#0000bf]Will be hitting Lincoln Beach on Friday morning. Does that fit on your dance card?[/#0000bf]

[#0000bf]After this hectic week I will be "investing" heavily in Utah Lake fishies for a couple of weeks at least. There will also be Yuba and some trips back to Willard.[/#0000bf]

[#0000bf]Just let us know what your schedule is and we can try to get our social calendars to match. Have your people contact my people.[/#0000bf]

[cool][#0000bf]You may have lost the fish but you will never lose the memory. Sometimes it is best that way. It sure is better for the fish anyway.[/#0000bf]
[#0000bf][/#0000bf]
[#0000bf]I have seen a couple of tubers literally get "hog tied" by tiger trout that go berserk as they are brought close for netting. Those things start zipping and zinging around and will dive and wrap your legs in your line. It's almost like they get a sudden shot of PCP or super fishy adrenaline.[/#0000bf]

TD: Save a weekday on your Utah lake dance card for the first week in April (if feasable) -- I would love to see how to really catch fish.

[#0000bf][/#0000bf]
[#0000bf]My "dance card" will be wide open that week. TubeBabe will be playing down in Arizona for a couple of weeks again and I will be looking for affection from a lot of fishies.[/#0000bf]
[#0000bf][/#0000bf]
[#0000bf]If you live anywhere near Salt Lake, we can rideshare and all that.[/#0000bf]

I will be in Utah (Lehi to be exact) on April 3rd, 4th and 5th -- I have nothing to do on those days except fish. After that comes all of the family Easter stuff -- and then the boring drive back to NE.
