Does any body have any ice reports for the Berry? Was thinking about one last trip. Usually unload snobiles at the marina and head out. Just wondering if thats still possible or if I should stay home and get the boat ready.

Fished yesterday across the bay from marina. Ice over a foot thick Crusty in the AM by noon broke through crust in several [lots] of spots in to a water layer [4 inches] but didn't get stuck on my 3 wheeler Fishing was fair about normal for this time of the year. No problems getting on to or off of the ice at the shore.

I had a few hours free this afternoon, and hit the marina area. The edges were fine, but as noted, a layer of crust is present over slush. It was OK going out, but was breaking and rotten coming in. Below the slush was approx. 18-24 inches of ice. There were a couple of sleds on the ice today. Fishing was decent for slot cutts, but it really died after 3 PM.
The ice should be OK for the weekend, but once the outer layer melts, it might be unpleasant to get around. Looks like it is time to put away the auger for the year and get the float tube ready.
