Bear Lake

Does the fishing at Bear Lake pick up when the ice comes off like some of the other lakes?

It seems that Bear Lake is its own animal when it you compare it to other lakes so I wonder if the ice off up there is like it is around here.

Bodine and BLM would be the ones to ask because they have fished it so much but from my view point, it's a toss up. You might do good but every day is different at the Bear. There is no doubt it is worth a try and the first chance I get, I'll be heading up there. The last report I heard after the ice broke up was the wind pushed the ice back toward the West shore, so it could be dangerous out there until the ice melts. I'm sure this latest storm has slowed the melting down but by next weekend it might be gone if it warm back up.
