[#505000]Been planning on hitting Lincoln Beach now for awhile, but due to weather and other commitments I have been unable to make it. Well I got to reading Tubedude's post about the big'un that got away and the near heart attack it gave him and thought I better go show those kitties who was boss. [/#505000]

[#505000]I hit the water at O'dark 30, and proceeded to paddle out to an area I like to fish. I was staying close to shore because I was expecting a couple of friends who were going to come down and give em hell from shore.[/#505000]

[#505000]The temperature was nice, the water was 53 degrees, and the fishing was slow. I ran a jig through a raft o' carp and managed to hook into an 8 pound piece of bait on the fin. Into the basket she went along with her umpteen billion carp eggs. One down 10 million to go. [/#505000]

[#505000]One of my friends showed up and proceeded to set up in an area I told him would be productive. I set up not too far away and waited. After a time I got a couple runners but no hook-ups. I then got a good runner and set the hook. Several minutes later I landed the little brother to Dude's one that got away. I pulled from the water a beastly 12lb 31 inch channel cat that didn't fit in my net. I could put my fist in it's mouth. [/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]I followed that up with another runner on my 4/0 circle hook with a large, large wad of carp meat on it. I pulled it in and saw a 1lb white bass had swallowed my rig. I'm surprised it didn't choke on the bait as it barely fit in it's mouth. [/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]I followed that up with a 7.5 lbs cat, and then I ran out of time and had to call it a day. [/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]Not the most fish ever but it was a hoot landing that monster [cool]. I'm glad I had to leave at 10am because my friend on shore who was getting skunked was blaming me for his skunkedness and threatening to stick my pontoon oars in interesting places of my anatomy once I hit dry land. [
] Another good reason to fish armed.[/#505000]
[#505000]For the record 12lb Channel Cats eat 9inch bullheads.[/#505000]
