Anybody know the current conditions at Strawberry? Has the ice pulled away from the edges? If so, how much and what are the likely spots to find open water? I hear that the fishing can be fantastic when the ice has only pulled away from the edges 10-20 feet. Any ifo is greatly appreciated....thinkin about possibly going in the morning.

From what I have heard (from different people) is that the ladders should have plenty of soft water by now. As of last week they were telling me 20'... So I imagine even less ice right now. There was even a report of Mud Creek being ice free.
If you go, don't forget the black and olive marabou jigs. Throw them right at the edge of or on top of the ice, and pull em off... then hang on. [cool]

I've heard reports of open water near the ladders and another place I can't remember with open shorelines everywere. I'd go if I were you. Early ice off is a blast. Crawler and a mallow or a black maribou jig. Good luck, give us a report.
